How Sony leveraged great sound and AI to steal the show at CES 2018

Sony Corporation (“Sony”) marked an unprecedented niche at this year’s CES by going for high quality and smart sound in its latest home entertainment category.

According to renowned global tech reviewer, TechRadar, Sony was unmatched in the sound category and bagged the best headphones, best speakers, best robot and best audio accessory spots.

Other products that stood out for tech enthusiasts include the latest image processor, which was recognised by Digital Trends, and the new and improved adorable robot dog, the aibo™, which was highlighted by Engaget as the “best robot or drone” at CES 2018.
This is how Digital Trends described the Sony X1 Ultimate processor: “It’s tough to make a TV processor sound sexy when talking about it, so Sony made its X1 Ultimate chip speak for itself by using it to power a jaw-droppingly stunning 85-inch 8K HDR LED TV capable of a blistering 10,000 nits of brightness.”
Also on display were Sony’s latest product offerings such as 4K OLED televisions and wireless noise-cancelling stereo headsets that allow you to enjoy high audio quality music while working out.

“In the space of consumer electronics, I strongly believe that there is still so much that we can do to innovate and to bring you the most meaningful creative and entertainment experiences through our products,” said Sony Corporation President & CEO Kazuo Hirai.

However, the sound of Sony will echo the longest in the minds of CES visitors as the company stole the show with its investment on sound that seamlessly integrates into one’s day-to-day activities.

Most notably, the Sony WF-SP700N wireless earbuds have, according to Tech Radar, delivered on the company’s promise of “exercise without getting caught up in cables”.
The WF-SP700N is Sony’s most feature-packed sports bud yet, with its splash-proofing and active nose-cancellation packed into a true wireless form factor, making them the headphones to beat at CES 2018.

Sony also introduced its latest initiatives in automotive image sensors that will contribute to the advent of fully autonomous driving in society, and artificial intelligence (AI) x Robotics including the recently announced entertainment robot aibo™, which was on display for the first time anywhere outside of Japan.
