LG stays at the forefront of Robotics revolution

With the rapid increase in technological advancement, the fact is that the world is slowly but consciously adopting the use of robots.
The inevitability of this technology cannot be assumed in today’s future-oriented world as we are already seeing the development of self-driving cars, the use of elder care robots to take care of the elderly in the society and the use of automated drones in military operations by a number of countries.
For decades, people have been giving their views on how the rise of robotic technologies will impact human lives and make our cities more livable. On one hand, pessimists have been warning of the negative impacts of automation especially the destruction of livelihoods for low-skill workers.
On the other hand, optimists believe that the massive economic opportunities robots present will improve productivity by allowing people to pursue meaningful careers with the robots filling the gap on undesirable jobs. The truths remains that robotics and artificial intelligence is headed for bigger purposes in future developments and interactions.
LG has been at the forefront and largely responsible for a lot of robotics revolution for the last eight years and boasts a wide range of real-world artificial intelligence solutions and futuristic concepts.
“Robotics as a key component of our SmartThinQ Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy, we view it as an essential future growth opportunity hence our commitment to expanding our robotics capabilities through investments in innovation,” asserts Moses Marji, LG Electronic General Manager Marketing, East Africa.
The latest innovation by LG displays exciting concepts with convenient practical benefits to the consumers. For instance, LG’s Airport Guide Robot connects to an airport’s central server and provides one with estimated distances and walking times to locations of restaurants and other places located within the airport.
The robot also has the ability to scan your ticket’s bar codes and let you know flight information, boarding time as we as the weather of your destination. With the ability to speak four languages, the robot can also relay you all the information through its voice recognition system and one can ask the robot to scan their boarding pass and escort them to the actual waiting lounge.
LG’s cleaning robot on the other hand has smart mapping skills and offer effortless cleaning. It has the ability to detect areas that requires the most frequent cleaning, stores the locations in its database before calculating the most efficient routes to get there and proceeding to go cleaning these areas.
These robots only take a few minutes of the day to turn on therefore letting you continue with other chores hence time that you could have used in cleaning your home is spend on something else. LG Hom-Bot vacuum is further equipped with SmartThinQ technology that allows a user to control the robot through an app on their smartphone, therefore saving a lot of time.
When it comes to robotics and artificial intelligence, you are guaranteed of getting exactly what you pay for, no matter what kind of robot you seek to have either for home or commercial use. Robotics offer an extremely high degree of convenience and flexibility and with artificial intelligence soon to reach the singularity point that it is able to program itself, automated systems looks set to play an essential role in future cities and towns.
